Capitol controls are measures taken to control the flow of foreign currency in an out of a country. In China, individuals’ annual foreign‑currency purchases are capped at 50,000 USD, most cross‑border capital movements are subject to review by the State Administration of Foreign Exchange, and the Central Bank places limits on corporate borrowing and international payments for firms operating in China. The RMB is also kept under a managed float rather than a fully free‑floating exchange rate, allowing authorities to guide its value within a desired range.
